These are the steps I have checked so far: I spoke with the higher tier support at my hosting service and they confirmed that their servers do not have any scheduled purging of deleted messages so it has to be something happening within Outlook but I have not been able to find out what is causing Generally, most peopleĭon't need to keep the 'Trash' for any amount of time so this wouldn't be a problem, but this is for an insurance agency so we need to keep those messages for a longer period of time just in case they are required for a claim or an audit. We have discovered that Outlook 2010 is automatically purging messages from the Trash folder after 7 days even though all Trash folder settings I can find are configured not to do so, and the host email server is not doing the purging.
